About Me

My photo
I am a person with a very energetic, bubbly, and optimistic attitude. I can be extremely random, which I am sure can be both entertaining and/or extremely annoying ^_^ But the most important thing is that I am saved by Christ, and He is my strength and salvation! I love talking about my Lord, and living my life for His glory :) Along the way I like to doodle what I see or imagine.

Watercolor Version vs. Pencil.. Plus other nonsense ^_^

Well, I finally did a watercolor version of my pencil dandelion. The watercolor one turned out different then I was expecting, but I like it. They both have their good qualities ^_^

Pencil: I like the cracks in this one, they look a little more like actual cement cracks ^_^
Watercolor:  The cracks look almost techno-ish (not sure of the proper term here ^_^ ) But otherwise I really like it!

Now for the random stuff:

The reason I haven't posted anything in forever? Why school of course! Thankfully it has been going pretty well. God has definitely blessed me even if in the midst of school.

A quick sketch/watercolor of a Raggant from N. D. Wilson's awesomeandamazing series ^_^ LOVE THAT SERIES!

Here is the Doctor in Child form... They could totally do a series like this! It would be SO hilarious!! (Copyright Abigail Parnell, you can buy the idea for 150 thousand dollars! ;) )

Ok, so this is the REALLY random one. It's just a doodle I did for my BAE class last semester. ^_^

Dandelions!!

I recently read an amazing(!!) series by N. D Wilson that I reallyreally enjoyed! The first book is called 100 Cupboards, and the main character has magic that comes from dandelions! I have now decided that dandelions are awesome and totally epic, and have done several drawings/paintings involving them.. anyway, if you haven't read this series... you are missing out. Hope you like the artwork. I am sure there will be many more dandelions popping up in the near and far future :) Have a blessed Lord's day!!

I would like to try a watercolor for this one :)

This one wasn't exactly inspired by the series.. but the dandelions definitely were! ^_^

Late Night Anime Fest! ^_^

I know it's late, and I should be in bed.. But I just wanted to share a couple pictures I did with my siblings.
Everyone keeps telling me I look like an anime character, so I found a quick anime character builder online made a few  ^_^ I especially like the eyes! Me and my siblings had a lot of fun.
This is my little sister did, and is supposed to be her. She was going for epic:)

This is another by my sister, and is supposed to be one of her characters she made up.

This is the one my younger brother did.. I really like how it turned out!

I tried several for me, but I think this last one is my favorite! ^_^

I really like how the eyes look and I think these ones really look like my eyes. Which is nice, because I have been trying to draw my anime character myself.. Who knows, I am sure this is not the last anime that ya'll will see,

Lessons Learned :)

I definitely don't see myself as an abstract artist, but painting in abstract has definitely helped me learn a lot of basic skills in watercolor. So in the watercolor class I took I started out trying to be as realistic as possible and tried to get every detail, but the instructor encouraged all of us to think outside of the box and try doing it her way. And I don't think I would have improved as much if I hadn't painted in an abstract way! I also love trying to demonstrate an object with as little as possible and I think that artists that can are very talented ^_^

So here are a couple of the paintings I did in the class. They are mostly in chronological order. Hope you guys like them!

This last one is definitely my favorite. It kind of ending up being a weird mixture of realistic and abstract that I really feel is kind of balanced.

Princess Bride fan :)

I am definitely a Princess Bride fan. Though I most certainly was more like the little kid at the beginning of the movie when I drew this comic. I do remember thinking that Buttercup sort of deserved getting a little knock on the head for being so bossy in the beginning ^_^

P.S I will be posting some of the work I did in my watercolor class. It was so much fun and I am very happy with the work I did in it.

I'm going to School!!

Okay, so most of you (cough* cough*), maybe all of you know me. ^_^ And the title might have just thrown you off. School? Well, yeah, of course. Well, I just wanted to let you all know that I am taking a watercolor class! I am very excited, and hope to hone my skills and learn more about how to use watercolor. I have enjoyed the first couple of classes, and if anything absolutely amazing results from the class, I will definitely post it on here. ^_^

Elvish Alphabet

I have always loved elves. They are so elegant and pretty. At some point or other I was looking at a Tolkien dictionary, and it had some elvish runes in it, and some had some really pretty meanings... not to mention how cool elvish looks ^_^ I've enjoyed working on these! Hope you enjoy them as well!

Some old, some new

Ah.. Arwen. I have always thought she was such a beautiful elf. Here is a fairly early picture I did of her. My brother, again AMAZING job on photoshop. He helped darken everything out.

I think this is one of my favorite live sketches I have ever done! Granted, I haven't done very many.. But still, I am rather proud of this one, especially if you consider I did this in the car!

I have my own katanna! Super excited/proud of that fact. }:)  This is a more recent drawing.

I love playing around with hair, and clothing. I sketched this one a little while ago in my smaller sketchbook, but then I went back more recently and noticed how black and white everything was, so I painted it. It added a LOT.

I might not be done with this one yet. As you can probably tell, I haven't added a lot of the texture on her cloak. I also am considering adding the background of the picture I got this from. It was quite a striking color contrast of red and brown leaves on the ground against her green cloak.
This is a newer painting, using a picture of Morgana as a model.

The original picture..

I am also currently working on some LOTR elf drawings. And one other major project...

Random... Randomness

Yeah, I have a lot of random pictures/doodles that don't really belong in any category.. so what do you do? Put them all together in a random post! :) Sigh* I love random!
O! yes! I should tell you the project I AM working on.. or maybe not. I sense some kind of hint in the near future... That most of you will probably guess anyway... anyway, back to random.

This picture is in honor of a very special family who just moved away. Miss them a lot.

This one is thanks to my dear friend, Bekah. Thanks for the inspiration. Now she just needs to write a story about him (hinthinthint) :)

Ah! Good ol' private jokes! They make great inspiration for doodles. This one is based in the impossibility of my even being able to CARRY let alone use a clamore.. ah well I can still dream! }:)

This is the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come from Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol. I was tired of the typical depiction of a skeletal hand, when I am fairly certain that Dickens described the hand as being strong. I am sure you can guess where my other source of inspiration comes from.. (Cough! Cough-ringwraiths-Cough!)

Again, Thanks to Bekah for a cute idea :) Meet Mushroom-cap Child.

For one of my dear friends. Check out her blog at http://www.ownerofalonelyharp.com/

Now you can get a glimpse of how random I really am.. As you can see, these were drawn right next to each other.. and on the same day, by the way. :)

Yeah, these two are just random. Playing around with motion. And hair.. And fabric...

I love this one. Nuff said.

Last one... For now.. Mwahahahah..
